ATTEMPTABLE

Although it's my will to do the Will of the Lord,
my human nature sometimes fails
Though ninety nine percent of the time I'm strong
there's one percent that remains unassailed.

I can often make it for quite sometime
with all my vices divested
Yet sooner or later I lose control
and they move in un-contested.

For this animal instinct puts up quite a fight
the attempt of contemptible senses
Then clever altering of reality makes it right
andl I stumble into tempting trenches.

But guilt always pulls me out
when attempted goodness is understood
And repeats I'm stronger when animal nature roars
a little louder than it should.
